What is a Registered Agent?
A registered agent is a company that provides a physical address in the state where your company is located. The physical address must be staffed and be able to receive service of process (lawsuits) during normal business hours. The registered agent is then required to scan/email or mail via express shipping the service of process documents to the business address on file. A registered agent also receives all state mail, tax notices, and other correspondence relating to your company. This correspondence is then forwarded to the company's business address.
